Is Product Development And Brand Management More Or Less The Same?

I want to go into brand management and work my way into product development, but they both seem to be intertwined. Is this true and if so, how so?

    Both are pretty vague and have to do with marketing.
    Brand management involves everything to do with a specific brand or family of products. It can include product development for that brand.
    Product Development is about developing new products. It’s not specific to a brand though it could be.
    It depends on the company that you are talking about.
